Homemade Vegan Chunky Nutella

Nutella has always been my favorite hazelnut spread ever since I was a kid! Unfortunately original Italian Nutella contain a lot of ingredients that are not good for our health, like palm oil, refined sugars, skim milk powder (contain oxidized cholesterol!!). All that those facts were enough for us to create our own Homemade Vegan Chunky Nutella!

Our Nutella contain only 3 ingredients, roasted hazelnuts, cacao powder, and coconut syrup. Sometimes we use dates or maple syrup instead of coconut syrup. No matter what you use you’ll get the same amazing results – super delicious hazelnut spread! 🙂
Homemade Nutella
For this recipe you’ll need high speed blender or food processor especially if you would like to reach super creamy texture. You’ll have to process it for at least 20 minutes. But if you like a chunky spread don’t process it until the end. This is what we did and we love it. The spread has super rich hazelnut flavor.




 

 
Here is one TIP: If you don’t have a lot of time and superfast blender use 100% hazelnut butter instead of hazelnuts, you’ll reach your desired texture in less then 1 min!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup (130 g) roasted hazelnuts
  • 4 tablespoons raw cacao powder
  • 1/3 cup (about 110 g) coconut syrup

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Add all the ingredients into a food processor and blend for about 2-3 minutes or a bit more until smooth. We decided to leave hazelnut chunks for more crunchiness and extra favor. To reach completely smooth texture you’ll have to process for several more minutes.
  • Transfer the mixture to a prepared jar or another dish. Keep in fridge.
  • Serve and enjoy Homemade Vegan Chunky Nutella!
