Vegan Acai Oatmeal

Oatmeals are, in our opinion, one of the quickest breakfast recipes besides smoothies. They are so easy to make, and combinations of topping ingredients are endless. This time we decided to use acai super powder to make a Vegan Acai Oatmeal recipe, to boost our immune system a bit, which is essential nowadays.

If you don’t use acai powder, we strongly encourage you to start. It’s so good for your body, it’s loaded with antioxidants, reduces bad cholesterol, and boosts your brain function. 
Vegan Acai Oatmeal
For liquid sweetener we used honey. Feel free to skip it or use maple syrup instead. Acai has some specific but mild flavor. We love adding it into fruit smoothies mainly, somehow it tastes the best with other fruits.




 
This recipe is vegan, naturally gluten-free, and dairy-free.

Homemade Acai Oatmeal

INGREDIENTS

  • 7 tablespoons ground rolled oats
  • 8.5 fl oz (250 ml) non-dairy milk (we used almond milk) or water
  • 1 teaspoon acai powder
  • liquid sweetener (honey, maple syrup, etc) – per taste

TOPPING

  • blackberries
  • redcurrant
  • coconut flakes
  • hemp hearts (per taste)

INSTRUCTIONS

  • In a small size saucepan, add ground oats, acai powder, liquid sweetener of your choice, and non-dairy milk or water. Stir everything well and bring to boil. Stir constantly until the mixture starts to thicken or until your desired thickness has been reached. 
  • Transfer the mixture into a small bowl. Add the topping ingredients: blackberries, redcurrant, coconut flakes, and sprinkle with some hemp hearts.
