Vegan Hazelnut Sugar-Free Energy Balls
Energy Balls are very popular nowadays. What I like the most is how fast I can make them. If you have had a chance to try Sugar-Free Energy Balls or Chocolate Energy Balls then you’ll love these ones as well, especially because they are done in only 7 minutes. Vegan hazelnut sugar-free energy balls are perfect on the go, as a post-workout snack, or if you’d like something sweet.
All our energy ball recipes have the same base – dates. Choosing the best dates is very important. For this specific recipe I wanted to try something new this is why I added homemade almond butter (the recipe will be on the website soon).
As a result, I got perfect texture and rich taste. For some extra healthy fats (omega-3 and omega-6), I added flax seeds. I assure you’ll be amazed. They are 100% vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free, healthy, and tasty!
Prep time: 2 min Cook time: 5 min Total: 7 min Servings: 5
INGREDIENTS
- 2.8 oz (80g) of whole Medjool Dates (about 11 small to medium size dates)
- 3/4 cup (115g) of hazelnuts
- 2.5 tablespoons of almond butter (unsalted 100% pure)
- 1 tablespoon of ground flax seeds
- 1 teaspoon water
INSTRUCTIONS
- Add dates to a food processor and process on high until finely ground.
- Add hazelnuts, flax seeds, almond butter, and grind again until a dough begins to form. If the mixture is too dry add one teaspoon of water.
- Form mixture into balls and repeat until no dough remains.
- Serve and enjoy Vegan Hazelnut Sugar-Free Energy Balls the way you like!
NOTES
- Try to use soft dates (100% dates without any artificial sugars added). If you are using very dry dates then soak them in the water for about 10-15min
- I got 10 vegan hazelnut sugar-free energy balls from this mixture.
Haha for a second I thought these were meatballs! Believe it or not if the flax seeds were substituted with chia seeds this would be paleo.
Definitely! 🙂
