Roasted European Sea Bass – Oil FREE

Cooking a fish can be a real disaster if you don’t know how to do it! We love eating fish and over the years we learned how to bake it in different ways. No matter if it’s fried, baked, or cooked, the most important is not to be dry or burned! We’ve all been there, so don’t worry – today you’ll learn how to perfectly roast European Sea Bass or any other fish. It’s super easy and you’ll have a lovely meal on the table.

This Roasted European Sea Bass recipe has no oil. Maybe it sounds a bit odd. I guess you are asking yourselves how is it possible to roast a fish without oil. Well, we must admit that once when we were in a hurry we left out the oil, and when we realized it, the fish was already done. 🙂

The taste is absolutely phenomenal. Ever since then we don’t use oil to bake or roast these types of fishes. There is no need to add extra oil if you don’t have to, right?

Most of the fishes are usually served with rice and some vegetables. Our choice this time was brown rice and roasted asparagus. A good option can be roasted or cooked potatoes or a salad as well. No matter what you choose, try to stay on a healthier side! 🙂

INGREDIENTS

  • about 8.8 oz (250 g) European Sea Bass fish
  • juice of half a lemon
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) water

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • Gently wash the European Sea Bass with cold water and dry it with a piece of paper napkins. Score the fish 1½ inches apart between the pectoral fin and tail on both sides. When done, add a little bit of salt on both sides of fish plus inside.
  • Place the salted fish in an ovenproof dish. Add lemon juice all over the fish. Then add water to the dish but this time not directly over the fish. We want the fish to have a nice lemony taste when done.
  • Cover the dish and bake for about 30 minutes on 350°F (180°C). Then remove the lid and bake for about 20 minutes on 390°F (200°C), until all the liquid is gone and fish is nicely roasted.
  • Let it cool at least 5-8 min. Serve and enjoy your Roasted European Sea Bass!
